Moinho Pirâmide offer customers two models of mills: Laboratory mill - gravitational mill, indicated for development of formulate and small batches of products. Production mill - continuous mill, indicated for the development of pastes, pigments and other products from the chemical industry.

Main Functions:
Mill’s function is to cause the milling of products added it to in order to standardize a single size and increase the hiding power, enabling a homogeneous and stable distribution at the application stage.

Typical Applications:
Paints, Varnish, Ceramics, Dyes, Stearates, Fungicides, Slurry, Gel Coat, Insecticides, Pesticides, Chemical Products, Textile Products, Coatings of magnetic tapes, Coatings for paper.

Tecnical Specifications:
Equipment extremely compact and simple to handle, with several different models and sizes. The milling process will begin from the following steps:
1: Check weight (Raw Materials)
2: Dispersion (Pre-milling)
3: Milling (Decrease of particle )
4: Filling (addition of additives or adjustment of color)

To achieve a good and effective milling we must verify:
- Spheres Diameter (Milling Element)
- Percentage of spheres in the mill camera (Cuba)
- Peripheral speed of dispersion (pre-milling)
- Peripheral speed of milling (milling)
- Flow control in accordance with each product
- Density and viscosity (initial and final)

The spheres present many models and sizes, but the most used in Brazilian market are the glass spheres and zirconium silicate. The glass spheres have a lower cost. However, its material and its low density can to cause some obstacles, such as: spheres broken in the process, contamination of the product, obstruction of the screen retainer and to increase the number of steps to achieve the desired quality. After reaching the quality is necessary to filter the entire product to eliminate problems in the application.

With the zirconium silicate spheres, the problems do not happen; since these spheres have almost doubled the density from to glass spheres. This is because the spheres of zirconium silicate present a noble and resistant material, thereby increasing productivity and saving energy.
